My wife's talktalk email account stopped working yesterday. She has been paying talktalk £5 a month for this service since they decided to charge non talktalk customers an annual fee for use of talktalk email services. She's had no notification from talktalk about any changes or stopping of their service but today she has noticed that her monthly £5 direct debit payment has not been collected since August. Is there anything she can do to get this service back ?
Secondly I also have a talktalk email account and pay a one off annual fee of £50 every November and am now also concerned that I might lose access to my talktalk email account. Can anyone advise or help please as I don't really want to lose my talktalk email account ?

We are sorry to hear you are currently experiencing issues with your email services, as you were sent communication advising your account has been migrated to Everymail, please contact them, they will further look into this for you.

Just tried to send an email from my talktalk account and it will no longer send messages saying ' cannot connect to outgoing mail server'. Last November I paid the annual fee of £50 to be able to keep my talktalk email address and account and as its not November yet my subscription is not up for renewal. This is in spite of being told on Monday that my account has now been migrated over to Everymail (on this forum).

Hi there @daveross, please have her contact Everymail support so they can have this looked into for her okay. You can use the link below to get in touch. Thanks

Unfortunately my wife is again today experiencing loss of email even though she has registered previously with Everymail and set up a new direct debit. Whats going on please ?

Your account has been automatically migrated to Everymail, ensuring you won't experience any disruptions or loss of email access. The only change is the service provider, as Everymail has taken over. Since Everymail allows you to associate up to five addresses with your original account, it is advisable to cancel one of your accounts—either yours or your wife's. This way, you can maintain a single account while still linking up to five addresses.

I have copied the biography info I provided last week over to the private notes so you should have all the information now. Let me know if otherwise
on 20-10-2025 09:45 AM
The account number or the landline number of your disconnected broadband account.

As far as I'm aware i filled in all the personal information on my profile last week, including what I believed was my old talktalk broadband account number. What other information do you require ?
on 20-10-2025 09:22 AM
When you are done updating details on the private notes in your community profile
on 20-10-2025 09:11 AM
Sorry 'please do confirm' what ?
on 20-10-2025 08:59 AM
Hi there, please do confirm when you are done so we can look into this for you, thanks

@daveross, I have removed all the personal information details from your reply!
Please never post any information like that in the public thread. It should always be only in the profile.
Please confirm once done, and staff will respond after the weekend.

Think I’ve managed to do that. My name is the same as my email name.

My old broadband account was xxxxxxxxx (I think). My wife’s email is xxxxx and mine yyyyyy and they were both on the same account which was in my name.

@daveross, it is worth putting the details of the old account number in the Private Notes section of your community profile.
Also the name and address of the account holder.
Go via your avatar; settings; open up the Personal Information menu and scroll down a bit further to Private Notes. SAVE CHANGES.
Staff will follow up after the weekend.

Hi @daveross I have managed to locate your TalkTalk mail plus account, and I am unable to locate your disconnected broadband account to check if your wife's email was ever linked to that account, could you please confirm if the broadband account was under your wife's account or was it under your name?
on 17-10-2025 04:23 PM
Hi @daveross I will look into this for you.

My point is that both Mailplus and Everymail allow up to 5 addresses associated with the one original broadband account, for continued support after you leave Talktalk.
So something wasn't right in the first place if you couldn't include both addresses under one subscription.
Possibly no chance of sorting that now. Worth waiting to see what staff have to say about it.
Please wait for staff to reply, @daveross

Except the £5 DD wasn't transferred and was last drawn in August 2025 and yesterday her email account stopped working. She had to manually set up a subscription today with Everymail in order to recover her talktalk email account but has received no notification on how to do this. She has since cancelled her previous talktalk DD.

Very odd, @daveross.
