Email to Gmail account not arriving

Recently (but for some weeks now) I've been unable to send email to Gmail accounts. A friend I've sent many messages to over the last few days and weeks has not received any of them (and not in junk either). The messages don't bounce, they are just not delivered. I just tried to send to my own Gmail account and the same thing happened. Nothing in either inbox or junk. 

 

Any ideas? Is this just affecting me? Can an individual account be blacklisted or similar?

It turned out to be a client thing. My emails were being marked as spam but the client (Outlook mobile) was not showing them in the spam folder. When I looked using the native Gmail app, there they were in spam. My friend removed and reinstalled Outlook and that fixed it for him.

 

Every day's a school day!
