The only relevance would be if your mailbox was restricted to webmail only access. i.e. access to your mailbox only via an Internet browser. Being restricted to webmail only access will happen at some time for former customers that do not subscribe to TalkTalk Mail Plus. But you did say you were using email on a laptop and tablet and if this is via email apps then your mailbox is not restricted yet.

Hi
Do you mean that has nothing to do with my email issue.

You're getting sidetracked by looking in your former customer MyAccount. The MyAccount has the standard message for a former customer that does not have TalkTalk broadband and that has chosen not to subscribe to TalkTalk Mail Plus that is the official way to retain full use of TalkTalk Mail addresses.

Hi
Did that by still got the same respond, have found this in my talktalk account when i went into manage talktalk mail would that have anything to do with it. You do not have an active TalkTalk Broadband or TalkTalk Mail Plus subscription, so you are no longer able to create or add new email accounts.

Add and remove existing or new mailboxes to your list and update passwords.
Please Note - we have temporarily removed the create/delete mailbox functionality as we are performing some backend maintenance work on our email platform. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Your email address is localpart@tiscali.co.uk but your IMAP server name should be mail.talktalk.net exactly as I've given in my reply.
Start again, remove the email account from the phone and set it up afresh using the recommended settings.
On the question of the password - is the password strong enough? At least 8 characters, multicase letters and at least one number and one symbol. If not then the mail servers may decline to authenticate a connection if the password is too weak.

Hi
It said The username or password is incorrect or pop3/imap access isnt turned on for this account.
Check your email account settings on the web then try again.
My imap server is tiscali.co.uk .

Here's a guide from Samsung on setting up an email account.
You need to select Other from the types of accounts offered and if prompted for account type select IMAP.
When you get to entering the email address and password you'll see an option at the bottom for a Manual setup which you need to select.
The Samsung email app server settings are:
IMAP Incoming server: mail.talktalk.net
Security type: SSL
Port: 993
SMTP Outgoing server: smtp.talktalk.net
Security type: TLS
Port: 587
Require authentication to send emails: ON
If you get stuck at any point then just say. I may ask for screenshots of the server settings. Image edit to obscure the first part of your email address before uploading here using the picture icon above this reply area.

OK, it's good to know that the mailbox is active, you know the current password and that mail is flowing on a tablet and a laptop which is positively encouraging. I'll assume all email accounts on these devices are IMAP accounts so that they all mirror the online mailbox.
So, in practice, we're just looking at why the phone's email app has stopped working. We'll treat this as a hardware / software glitch and say that it's worth doing a power down on the phone and re-powering after 5 minutes. Then if that doesn't fix the issue, to go for deleting the email account from the phone so you can set up the account afresh. After deleting do another power down and power up just to clear the system.
Now, you'll need the email account settings. So I'll need to know the phone model, the operating system and the email software you wish to use. e.g. if it's a Samsung phone operating Android 15 you might have the Samsung email app or Gmail email app installed or another email app of your choice. Just let me know.

Hi @Spud1521
Mailboxes are flagged for deletion if the user doesn't sign in at least once every 180 days. The help page Deleted Email error message explains more.
So first you'd check if the email address is still active. Send the email address a mail message and see if you get an immediate bounceback error message saying 'Undeliverable' that means the mailbox isn't active.
Then enter the email address at Verifalia, an external website that verifies if an email address exists. Enter the email address, complete the reCAPTCHA and select the Validate button. Does the top line response say 'Deliverable' or something else?
Finally, use the Reset password now button in the Help page Changing your email password to see if you get a deleted or no domain error message or if you actually do have password recovery options saved.
Let us know the outcome in each case.
