I have had two emails sent to email addresses @AOL that have been returned, after 5 days, with the subject line 'Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender'. The reason given was:
Remote-MTA: dns; mx-aol.mail.gm0.yahoodns.net
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 421 4.7.0 [TSS04] Messages from 153.92.124.143
temporarily deferred due to unexpected volume or user complaints -
I see on the community that this has been happening to others over several weeks. I have been encouraged to post it separately to ensure the problem gets appropriately prioritized.
I attempted to report it via LiveChat while logged into MyAccount, eventually got past the bot to an agent then passed to another agent, answering irrelevant questions trying to explain the problem. I finally gave up and am logging it here.
The return to sender has happened in the past to me with gmail accounts. it is clearly a recurring issue, that is happening to many users and causing anguish. Not finding out for 5 days that you email has been 'defferred' is annoying and for some people could be cause real problems.
TalkTalk should be treating this with greater seriousness than it apparently is!

Hi number5of8, I've already got an open incident for this. The team are working to reduce the amount of spam as quickly as possible.
