I received one today but haven't sent any emails, is ths spam/phisfing or a virus. Any help greatly appreciated.

@BrianP43

Hi,
Please start your own thread as each case is considered unique and it is easier for support to be given to one person per thread and also less confusing.
To start your thread click the Browse button, then Help With Your Service and select the appropriate category. You will then see a Blue Button "Start A Topic"
Please also note that you should only post back on that thread and not start another on the same topic as multiple posts cause delay to you and others seeking help.
Thank you

I have had the same thing.

How do you get the "spoofing" lifted from the legit email address ?  I've changed the pwd, checked the settings etc and recipients are still not receiving my emails and they are not showing up in their SPAM folder either.

All I am getting is the mail rejection from MAILER-DAEMON with a 550-5.7.1 sender domain rejected

Oh and if you suspect the attachment may be dodgy just delete the email.

Have you recently received an email apparently from TalkTalk asking you to verify or rescue your account and followed the link?

If you email address may have been compromised and being used to send out spam which is why spam filters are rejecting your legitimate mailing.

If you have, I'd suggest you

  • Export your address book so it does not get lost.
  • Change your password
  • Check if any mail forwarding has been setup on your account
  • Run a virus and malware scan on your devices that you use to access you emails.

If your email address has been spoofed there is not a lot you can do until spammers move onto someone else's address.

Hopefully it will resolve itself in time.

You could also do an internet search as there are some suggestions you could try.

my email is being rejected as spam what can i do
