Missing Inbox emails after a "spoofing" attack

Hi, I recently received a "spoof" email saying my email account (and consequently my computer) has been hacked and they wanted me to pay $500 bitcoin to remove the Trojan on my PC. After that the emails stored in my Inbox have disappeared. (My saved emails are still there). I have since changed my password in the hope that I will not hear from them again.

How do I get my missing emails restored?

Emails may have been archived instead of deleted. Look for an "Archive" folder in your TalkTalk Mail account to see if your missing emails are stored there.

Trash and Spam folders are also empty.

Unfortunately if they have been deleted and are not in your bin, they can't be restored.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here: How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - Help & Support.
