@Arandora, this is not a very recent thread and, anyway, Talktalk staff only respond to the original poster.

You need to return to the message board and click on start a topic to begin your own.

Always do this for issues specific to your account so that there is no confusion in the replies.

Staff will be back from Monday.

A similar issue as with this topic so I've not raised a new one.

Issue - On a few times now I have had messages to the Help Center of the Tripdvisor Thailand forum returned.. The latest message yesterday has been returned with the following message:-

"This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

  sfwebform@tripadvisor.com

    host smtp.google.com [74.125.24.27]

SMTP error from remote mail server after pipelined end of data:

550-5.7.26 Unauthenticated email from talktalk.net is not accepted due to

550-5.7.26 domain's DMARC policy. Please contact the administrator of

550-5.7.26 talktalk.net domain if this was a legitimate mail. To learn about

550-5.7.26 the DMARC initiative, go to

    550 5.7.26  https://support.google.com/mail/?p=DmarcRejection 41be03b00d2f7-7a9f621ca6fsi5681596a12.22 - gsmtp "

.

I don't understand the reference to TripAdvisors DMARC policy. This is the only returned mail I have received and the sfwebform,,, email concerned is generated automatically by the TA Help Center system. I am logged into the TA forum and the Help Center with my @talktalk.net Email address.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just to add a little information about New Outlook, in case you weren't aware. Microsoft have designed the product such that the email settings cannot be edited. So, if any settings require changing you'll need to remove each account that needs changes and set up afresh.

The BT Mail bounceback suggests the outgoing messages are not authenticated which suggests that the New Outlook settings are not correct. Here are the settings for the hotmail email address:

Incoming Server – IMAP

Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
Port: 993
Security: SSL/TLS
Username: Your full hotmail email address
Password: Your hotmail email password

Outgoing Server – SMTP

Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Port: 587
Security: STARTTLS
Username: Your full hotmail email address
Password: Your hotmail email password

And for the talktalk email address:

Incoming Server – IMAP

Server: mail.talktalk.net
Port: 993
Security: SSL/TLS
Username: Your full talktalk email address
Password: Your talktalk email password

Outgoing Server – SMTP

Server: smtp.talktalk.net
Port: 587
Security: STARTTLS
Username: Your full talktalk email address
Password: Your talktalk email password

Yes - I'm a broadband customer.  I have tried sending from my hotmail address and my talktalk address with the same result.  I'm sending from my Windows 11 laptop via New Outlook.

The error message tells me you're sending from Hotmail to BT Mail and BT Mail is rejecting the Hotmail message because it's not authenticated.

I'd assume you're a TalkTalk Broadband customer? What's the email domain you're sending from - just the part after the @ symbol and how are you sending that message - what device, what operating system and what email software?
