Granted. When I made my original statement, I made it in a more general way.
If there is a suspicious email, as there was in the OP's case, it's good to immediately check the From: sender's address first, to confirm that it is not from talktalk.co.uk, and deal with it, e.g. delete it.

The OP didn't include any of that text, so it wasn't removed.
It was not displayed in the original post, and, as I said, if it had been it would have been of no value, as these addresses are usually invented for short term use.

I am talking about the email address showing in the 'From:' field, not something later in the email
Surely there is an address in there, in each and every email.

Not relevant, @Billx, as the dodgy link says "Click here". So you wouldn't learn anything from that.
No email addresses should be displayed anyway - and if it's a dodgy sender address, it's often spoofed or used a dozen times and then changed slightly.
Not helpful.

It would be useful if when a dodgy link is removed, that yes, the link is removed, but not the link-less text of the sender's email address, or at least the domain of sender's email address, so that the rest of us get an appreciation of what these dodgy email addresses look like.

The important thing is, who is the sender.
It will probably not be talktalk.co.uk.
It is obviously a scam email.

Hi BrianProctor1, its a SCAM. Don't reply, unsubscribe or click any links. Just delete it the email teams are aware of the current phishing scams.
