Hello.

I am trying to understand what the following error message means:

Subject: Undeliverable: Availability for.....(name, dates etc data redacted).....
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

obscured for customer security
    host mx.talktalk.net [62.24.202.42]
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<obscured for customer security>:
    550 5.1.1 kYKSrcHeBmK5y Recipient Undeliverable (TT512)

This message was received by and forwarded to me by a person with whom I have exchanged emails previously using the same email address's, without any problem.

I'd be grateful if someone could shed some light on this and advise on any fix.

I am a TalkTalk mail only customer now.

Thanks.

Please send me a personal message with the sender email address and I'll run a scan to see what I can see.

Hi Ady - Thanks for posting a reply. Do you mean sending an email from my own address in Talktalk webmail to my own address, or asking the sender who got bounced to resend from gmail webmail? If the former, that works perfectly well!  It also works OK if I send to my talktalk address from a gmail account using webmail rather than a standalone client. Looking back, I can see that another of the delivery failures was for a message sent using Microsoft from an Outlook account, so it is obviously not just a problem with gmail senders. To confuse further, where the original sender has resent using the same setup, the resent email arrives safely!! This has now happened 3 times in the last week, which is worrying and frustrating.  Any thoughts, please?  Many thanks.

What happens when you send to your email address from the same email address in webmail?

Hi

I am hitting the same issue intermittently on 2 different talktalk.net accounts across several different mail clients (IOS, Thunderbird and Android).  Response is below - I think most of the problems seem to be when the sender is on gmail, but I am not aware of any issues with my account (full, spam filter etc.). Can you advise how to diagnose the problem, please?

Address not found

Your message wasn't delivered to  xxxxx@talktalk.net because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail.
The response from the remote server was:

550 5.1.1 8zwjsx4qpsaQ2 Recipient Undeliverable (TT512)

The TT512 message is from the inbound TalkTalk mail server saying that the mailbox for Alan is not available for delivery.  The mailbox is currently active on the mail platform so it's either full, rejecting your mail or just temporarily unavailable for delivery.

You might like to try again later. Let us know what happens.
