I'm trying to find some emails I binned but the bin folder only goes back one month.  How can I go back further than this?

What you can try:
Check other devices you use for email — sometimes older messages are still cached or downloaded locally.
Contact the sender of important messages to resend them.

@Elaine555 I’m really sorry to hear those emails have been lost — I know how frustrating that can be.

Regarding the 30‑day deletion setting:
TalkTalk Mail automatically removes items from the Bin after around 30 days, and this retention period cannot be changed. Unfortunately, TalkTalk does not offer an option to increase or customise how long deleted emails are stored. This is confirmed by our support guidance, which states that once emails are deleted from Trash and past the retention window, they cannot be restored or extended.

Thank you. Yes it has been set to 30 days so I’ve lost them!!
Do you know how I can change the default setting?

@Elaine555 please confirm if you are using webmail to access your emails or you are using a 3rd party.

It's likely to have been automatically emptied - most mail servers set the bin to deletion by default after 30 days, @Elaine555, unless you set them to something else.

Once gone from the server, they cannot be retrieved.
