Ask us about your TalkTalk email account and Webmail.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have not received any further emails relating to the closing down of TalkTalk email servers. Is this going to happen? It does seem so from the email sent on 9th April which also states that “We’ll be in touch in the coming weeks to share the sign up link for your 30-day free trial with Everymail”.
The only other email I have received since this one on 9th April was the one I attach which states that the previous one was sent in error? We have 2 TalkTalk email addresses in use in our home but neither user have been contacted. Could you please let me know what is happening and what I need to do.
Kind regards,
Keith

Regarding point 2.
Even though I contacted TalkTalk and the form was submitted I still have been blocked from sending e-mails - even after contacting them a few days later. I have now got a "final notice" that I'll lose all access by Jun 16th. It's only affecting my legacy email.
I anticipated problems and have migrated all my important e-mails (banks, gov.uk, shopping etc) and suggest you do the same.

This move to Everymail has been going on since warnings approx a year ago, @kmorgan.
Anything suggesting you have a year's grace after leaving is likely to be out of date.
You may have missed spotting an email with the link from Talktalk for subscribing to Everymail, or it may have previously gone to Spam and since vanished. It may be that they simply have not sent it to you yet.
Everymail probably thinks you are still within the grace period, having left only a few months ago (we haven't been kept informed about what the new grace period actually is. Probably it's simply what they can manage to keep up with administratively.)
There's nothing we can do for you further through the forum. You'll need to contact Talktalk directly on 03451 720088 or Chat [via My Account] during the day.

Thank you for clarifying this muddle. I ceased to be a TalkTalk broadband customer some months ago but still rely on the email addresses for which I thought I was told (or read), somewhere that there was a 12 month grace period before the mails addresses were switched off. I think I fall under your point 4.
The original email from TalkTalk on this matter suggests I need to sign up to Everymail before my account gets closed on 7th July. When I logged into Everymail it didn't show any subscription options to choose (i.e. the monthly or yearly subscription options and it told me I was a TalkTalk customer and thus I could access my mail. So I don't know if Talktalk are going to switch me or send a subscription link as I don't want to wait until the last minute and find I no longer have mail access?
Do you think TalkTalk are going to arrange this switch and link to the initial subscription page? I have only just logged in tonight so maybe I need to wait until tomorrow to see if I get any response from Everymail.
Thanks ,
Keith

@kmorgan, there has been quite a muddle with the emails over the past year.
Basically:
1. If you are a current broadband customer with Talktalk and have an ongoing email address associated with your account, there's nothing to worry about.
2. If you are a current customer but use email addresses from a previous account with Talktalk, left and then returned, or you have any legacy addresses such as Tiscali etc and addresses that Talktalk took over, you need to contact Talktalk as soon as possible:

The agent you speak to must complete a webform which Talktalk then processes to reassociate the addresses with the current Talktalk broadband service.
3. The need to subscribe to Everymail is only for those who were previous customers and had been subscribing to Talktalk's Mailplus or for those customers who left long since but continued with free webmail. That's coming to an end.
4. Folks who leave Talktalk meanwhile have the use of their addresses for an interim before being sent an email with a link for them to subscribe to Everymail.
I think that covers all possible scenarios!
