Have checked all settings as per talk talk instructions but it keeps asking for a password.  When password is entered it still asks for the password, help anyone, please.

Hi Florrie2, I've added the mailbox to those to be restored to full function.

Excellent. Both devices are capable of IMAP secure mail.

Just follow the TalkTalk guides on checking and updating the settings.

NB. The devices will not authenticate a connection until TalkTalk restore IMAP access next week. A request is in for access to be restored.

TalkTalk Support will respond right here.

You received the message from TalkTalk advising "Our records show that you are still accessing your email using unencrypted email settings, because of this, from 17th February you will no longer be able to receive or send emails via this email app or software".

This was a last resort action by TalkTalk to stop the continued use of insecure settings to your mailbox despite previous notifications giving the secure settings to use.  All email software connections must use secure settings for the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

Now that your mailbox IMAP access has been withdrawn the email app will not authenticate a password until TalkTalk restore that access. This means, for now, your email access is webmail only that's secure by design using an up to date Internet browser.

Enter your full TalkTalk Mail email address and password, select Sign in.

Check you can sign in and access your mail messages.

What model iPhone and what model iPad are you hoping to use and what's the Operating system version? This is asked so that we can advise on compatibility of the device and the use of secure mail.

For further advice take screenshots of the incoming and outgoing server settings showing those proposed settings. Or write those settings here so that there's confidence that the devices are set up ready for secure access to be restored.

Other than the iPhone and iPad. Are there any other devices or mail collection services making a potentially insecure connection to the mailbox?
