Good Morning
I am fairly new to TalkTalk having transfered over from Shell Energy Broadband a few months ago.
When I was with Shell Energy Broadband I used a BT Internet email address as my main email. Since transferring to TalkTalk I have continued to use the BT email address and have my BT emails forwarded to my TalkTalk Inbox. I also have a TalkTalk email address which I use sometimes.
I have no problem at all sending emails to a single receipient from either my BT email address or my TalkTalk email address.
Every few weeks or months I send the same email to three recipients. TalkTalk is not allowing me to do this from my BT email address or my TalkTalk email address. I have to login to my old BT Email account to successfully send this one email to the three recipients.
When I use TalkTalk I get the following error message -
Message could not be sent to the following recipients (the three recipients are then listed). (421 - 421 Too many messages (1.3.5.2) 185.74.65. 200)
Why will TalkTalk not let me send an email to multiple recipients?

Good Morning
Just an update.
As a solution has not been found for the issues I am experiencing with TalkTalk email I have had to abandon using TalkTalk for email. I've gone back to using BT Basic email which is not without its own issues but at least it lets me send the same email to multiple recipients and I can send as many emails as I like within any time frame and I am not restricted to only one email to one recipient per hour.
My Broadband was transferred to TalkTalk from Shell Energy. I did not ask for the transfer and I am not paying a get out fee to change providers again. TalkTalk can continue to provide my Broadband for the time being and I will use other providers for my email.
Thank you to those who tried to help with this issue.

Please send me a personal message with your TalkTalk email address so that I can do some checks.

You should be able to send more than 1 mail per hour. I'll do some checks for you.

There was only one recipient in the received email.
If TalkTalk is only allowing me to send one email an hour then I think I'm going to have to abandon using TalkTalk email all together. As previously stated I only send the occassional email but on the days where I do send more than one email it is too much hassle to keep checking or trying to remember what time I sent the previous email. To be honest having to do that is ridiculous.

How many recipients were in the received mail?
Your BT mail cannot send through the TalkTalk mail servers as it won't authenticate, you'll have different mail servers set up for the BT mailbox.

Hello again Ady
Following on from my recent reply I have today sent one new email in the last hour. I have then gone to reply to a received email in the last few minutes and it would not send because, as before it is telling me there are too many messages.
Does this mean I can only send one email per hour? If so that is very poor service from TalkTalk.

Good Afternoon Ady
Thank you for your reply which I am very confused about.
My Broadband is with TalkTalk. I receive both TalkTalk and BT Internet emails in my TalkTalk Inbox. I compose and send emails from my TalkTalk Email Account using both my TalkTalk email address and Bt Internet email address by selecting the relevant "from" email address from the drop down box on the "new email" tab top left of the browser window.
As for the frequency of sending emails I send on average about one email a day. I don't send emails everyday but on the odd day I will send 3 or 4 emails over a 24 hour period so not even one email per hour.

Hi molly84, we don't control how many emails you send from your BT email address. It doesn't send through our mail servers so that is unrelated to your TalkTalk connection. With regard to your TalkTalk email addresses they do go through the talktalk mail servers and are limited on the amount of mail that can be sent per hour and per 24 hours. How many mails are you sending per hour?

Hello again
I have just tried to send a reply email to a single recipient and it would not send. The error message is as follows
Message could not be sent to the following recipients: [PPM Ltd <contact@plymouthpropertymaintenance.co.uk>] (421 - 421 Too many messages (1.2.5.1) from 185.74.65.200)
So this appears to be happening on all emails now regardless of whether there is a single or multiple recipients.

Hello Michelle
Thank you for replying.
Yes it is still happening but only when I try to send an email to multiple recipients. It is absolutely fine sending an email to one recipient only.
Regards

Hi molly,
I'm sorry for the delay. Is this still happening since your last post?
Thanks
