White Markings Outaide House

Dear community,

I recently noticed Openreach were painting white chalk/paint markings outside my house. These weren't outside anyone else's house.

What does this mean? Could I expect work done on the line? Could I be without internet broadband?

No work has begun, haven't seen any signage, haven't been contacted.

Hi there @bradleybrand1, here's a link that will help you to tell if we have any outages that may affect your services. Thanks

@bradleybrand1

Also, the fact that the markings are outside your house may indicate something not directly related to your property e.g. a ducting issue, cable joint etc.

I think you will find that utility companies have to contact any household or business where works may result in a loss of service.

I've recently had the water company contact me when the had to switch off the water to fix a mains leak, and had notification from the electric company a few years back.

As you've not had anything hopefully it wont result in any disruption to your service.

Hi @bradleybrand1 I wish I could advise further but you've done all humanly possible. Catch them at it next time!

@Divsec, thanks for your reply! I looked into contacting Openreach but there wasn't a way to contact them. I used TalkTalk Live Chat support today, who suggested I contact Openreach.

I tried to search about possible maintenance/work on the network within my area, but I was unable to find anything.

Hi @bradleybrand1 I'd have to suggest that the best people to ask would be Openreach.

Your post has been escalated but I wouldn't expect too much.
