I am not receiving emails from my family who are on hotmail.com, checked my setting in Rules and there are no rules defined, contacted the help desk on chat for 2 hours can't find anything wrong so they said they were involving the higher level, then after 2 hour no more replys, so then stayed on chat further 1 hour asking me the same question they just hung up, don't know where to go now.

I've made the email and incidents team aware of the issue with us blocking hotmail and Outlook. Hopefully, they'll put a quick fix in.

It's been reported. Doesn't appear on Service Status so I expect it's being treated BAU (Business as Usual) which means the respective email admins will be liaising to determine that Microsoft are dealing with their outgoing servers to allow TalkTalk to relax the hard block.

The Microsoft email admins will in any case be aware because they'll have noted the bounceback messages.

We're aware that Hotmail.com and Outlook.com mail messages are being rejected with a TT992 bounce back error. This has been triggered by the spam protection process not by your family mail messages but either by the amount of spam emanating from Outlook servers or because the servers sending mail to TalkTalk are not fully authenticated.

This issue has happened before and was then a temporary measure to limit spam coming on to the TalkTalk network.

If they have an alternate email address to communicate with youthen now would be a good time to use it. Having said that some Gmail users are also facing the same problem. Perhaps Yahoo Mail would be a better bet until the Outlook.com issue is cleared.
