Broadband problem

I am experiencing a rather unusual problem with my broadband. It stopped working completely last Saturday evening. I did the usual things, switched the router on and off etc.  I then raised a support ticket with TalkTalk, they said Open Reach engineer needed, 2 to 3 days to fix.

Sure enough on Tuesday evening, it suddenly started working, and shortly after I got a message from TalkTalk to say the engineer had fixed it.

  However when I got up for work the following morning (Wednesday 5am), the broadband had failed again. It was out for a good hour, and then started working again, shortly before I left for work. It worked fine on Wednesday evening.

  This morning (Thursday), it had failed again, it was still in the failed state when I left for work about 6:20am. This evening, it’s absolutely fine again.

   When it’s in its failed state (constant from Saturday evening to Tuesday evening, and then at some point overnight since then), the router goes down to 2 green lights – Power & Wireless. The Broadband & Internet lights are completely off.   When it was in it’s constant failed state on Saturday evening, I tried a different filter, different cable, and also tried a different older router that I still had, none of which made any difference.

The connection has been fine since Friday evening/afternoon:-   to summarise, completely dead from Sat 7th December evening to following Tuesday evening. Died overnight on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday nights, although alive again by each following evening. Since Friday afternoon, absolutely fine.

The broadband started working again 24/7 from overnight on Friday, assuming Talk Talk / Open Reach have fixed it then many thanks. It does seem a bit strange :- did’nt work at all from Saturday evening (7th Dec) to Tuesday evening, following it starting working on Tuesday evening, Talk Talk messaged me shortly after on Tuesday evening to say engineer had fixed it. Failed overnight on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday nights, so not working first thing in the mornings, but then working again by the evenings. Since Friday evening, it’s been working 24/7 as far as I know.
