Which is the best way to cancel my account as I have not had any service since the router was installed?

You can't do it via the forum, and Chat would require a callback to complete the process, so it is more time efficient for you to make the call yourself.
Speak to Retentions / the Loyalty Team and just insist that you are actually cancelling. You'll need to negotiate Early Termination Charges if you have time left on your contract.
But they won't waive these unless you have given them every chance to sort out the problem first.
