WiFi dropping out randomly

I've done the checks and everything is up to date but yesterday my WiFi dropped out about 4 or 5 times while WFH. This happens every so often then it's fine for a weeks. Again this morning, it's dropping already. Do you think it could be the router? The line has had external fixes at least 3 times this year alone but when you pay for a service you expect to receive it. Every time it's been fixed there's no feedback to say what the issue was. Just let us know if it happens again. Go through the checks again and was said I'd be credited as a while back I had to tether my mobile to get work done as it was that unreliable. When working on VPN and numerous connections to systems there's nothing worse than losing connection. Do you think the issue could be router related? Again checks say it's up to date. Location hasn't moved ect.

Hi @Missgb

You say that you have done all the checks, but have you tried moving the router temporarily with a new microfilter to the test socket, behind the Master Socket's removable faceplate?

OK thanks for that, it is not the WiFi then at all, but a problem with the router or fibre. I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and investigate it for you.

They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday) excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first.

Lost WiFi as in the flashing orange/red light and my phone and laptop connection goes off totally. The thing is when it happens you can bet it will do the same a few times that day then all will be good again for a while. Very temperamental.

Which router make/model do you have? When you say you have lost WiFi, what is the state of the light on the front of the router?
