Not sure where to put this but I am concerned about the long term future of the company as I have read press reports of financial difficulties and a 400,000 loss of customers in the past year. I have been a customer for many years since my previous ISP was taken over by TalkTalk. In the first few years, especially when Ms. Harding was in charge, I made several complaints but in the last couple of years I have been very pleased with the service and am unenthusiastic about a takeover by BT or any other company. It will be difficult for any response to be made, but I think that members of the Community should be aware of this speculation in the press.

It's very unlikely TalkTalk would make a statement here because they wouldn't admit they're having problems which may discourage new sign ups or encourage existing customers to leave. My contract expires in October and I'm thinking about leaving. I'm not sure yet because I'm generally happy with the service and switching providers can be a hassle if the move doesn't go smoothly. I could probably get a better deal elsewhere plus a financial incentive to switch. If TalkTalk were taken over it would mean less choice for customers and maybe higher prices.

As you intimate, no-one who works for TalkTalk will able to comment except in the blandest terms.
This is the same, or similar, speculation that was rife before shareholders pumped money in last year.
My own opinion is that Ofcom would not just allow TalkTalk networks to stop. Instead they would actively look for someone to take on the responsibilities and liabilities of the company, should the worst happen, as happened when electricity suppliers folded a few years ago.
As has happened when TalkTalk took over the Shell responsibilities last year, your contract would continue and you would then be free to make a choice at the end of you contract period.
