Hi. I've been on this package for quite a while now and have been satisfied thus far with what I've been getting. Lately though, I've been thinking. With the impending end of the 'copper' landlines, whenever that will be. What is going to happen with all current FTTC services and of course the phone lines themselves?
I live in a flat in a small block and my current line is connected to the distribution point within the building, the line originally installed in 2014.
How would any new line enter my property? I have enquired in the past about this, I think and drew some blanks.
City Fibre installed a network round my area, a short while back, so this should be 'up and running'. The cabinet for this, being virtually outside my block and a connection point directly below me.
Anyway, more to the point. What is the future currently? When will TalkTalk have to inform me to change over to Full Fibre? Will I get a better service and speed?
As I began with. I've been quite happy so far. But in reality, as I look to the future, I will need a better and more reliable connection and speed, especially in what will become a fully streaming age for tv and a digital phone line and secure broadband service.

It looks like you were offered it in the past but it fell through, @SarahLou5.

 

Talktalk does use Cityfibre but its contracts are not necessarily available where Cityfibre happens to already be installed by other ISPs in an area. Was it Openreach that came back in 2023 and turned tail?

All you can do is check availability now and then through the main Talktalk website and use 03451 720074 for further information about Full Fibre. 

 

Forum staff cannot offer support regarding full fibre at this time.
