IP Address geolocation

Hi,

I was checking my IP address and location earlier today and it is saying my location is in St. Albans (200 miles from me) and that the service provider is a company called Opalnet, based in Nigeria!

 

Is this company tied to Talk Talk or do I need to report this?

Opal is a former provider taken over by TalkTalk. I have just checked mine and it says Carphone Warehouse Broadband Services, which has also long since been subsumed. Nothing to worry about at all. Try a different IP checker and you may well get a different result. 

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries.
