My faster fibre broadband is down, landline still OK, and I've received series of texts about problems with the service in this area. The latest says the problem can be expected to last until 28 Feb. Hopefully that date is wrong. What's going on?

It's fixed, for now at least, thanks Michelle. By co-incidence whilst walking locally I saw an Openreach engineer with his head in a cabinet fixing a fault. He reckoned it would be fixed in about 10 mins - he wasn't far wrong.
I wouldn't have bothered to post in the first place if the last 2 texts I got hadn't had an estimate of 28 Feb for a repair! The first of the 3 on the subject had an estimate of 1800 today which I could have lived with. Curious as to how the messaging could have gone so wrong?

I'm sorry to hear this. The line test is detecting a potential outage so I've raised this to Openreach to confirm and I will post back as soon as I receive an update for you.
