Packet Loss Whilst Gaming

I've seen so many posts about this, but none have included a solution. 

I'm getting between 5%-30% packet loss when I play games which makes it unplayable as it makes assets and players flicker and reduces my FPS to 5-20. I purposefully went with TalkTalk because the speeds were really good for gaming yet I can't even play the games I want to play. 

I've tried everything:

- VPN

- Resetting, restarting

- Altering my game settings

- Wired & wireless connection

It happens on both my computer and my partners

I've passed the cooldown deadline since I got the router a few days before christmas and only came back from visiting family a couple days ago so now I guess I'm stuck in this contract 🙂

Please can you elaborate by answering these few questions:-

1. What make/model of router do you have (if this is a TalkTalk router, these details will be on a label on the rear or underside of it)?
2. What package are you on?
3. What is the exact status of the lights on the front of the router when this happens?
4. If you have any wired connections, are they affected in the same way as wireless ones?
