Hi have tried to connect my Seestar S50 via station mode to my laptop through my eero router.
But when I type in seestar it the address of my seestar it comes up saying eero blocked it.
Although I can see that my eero app sees the seestar and says it's connected as I use 2.4ghz mode to connect.
Any advice to unblock the seestar

I can only offer generic help with devices, not such a specialist application, unless I recreate your problem here. So please let me know how you get on in their forum

Hi Keith
The app is connecting in station mode, basically you can connect to your home WiFi and use any device to control the seestar unit and access the files.
I have contacted zwo on their forum for help and advice so hopefully they can address the issue or someone might of had the same. I may try another router to see if the issue persists.
It doesn't appear to be a windows firewall issue.
Thank you for your help.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Cheers

I am confused. Is the station mode running on the laptop or the seestar app on a phone/tablet?
If you are trying to access these files on the laptop running in station mode, you will need to create an inbound rule in the Windows Firewall either for the station application's .exe file or the TCP/UDP ports that it requires. If not done the laptop's firewall will certainly block the traffic.
Whilst I am happy to help address any eero, Windows or device's IP packet problem, this sounds like a very specialist application. Have you contacted their technical support people? Please can you provide screenshots of the eero or whatever it is that is blocking it?

Hi Keith
Basically the app/seestar unit connects to the eero router so any other device on the eero network can access the files on the seestar, if that makes sense. Sometimes I have the ability to confuse even myself which isn't hard. 😂
Here is a link to the Web page on how to connect in station mode.

II have posted on the zwo seestar forum for help too, havent found anything like my issue on there yet.

Would I be correct in guessing then (I have never come across this application), that the connection comes in from the internet to your device in station mode?

Hi
Thank you for your replies.
In the seestar app you press the WiFi then select station mode and choose the eero router. Enter the password of the router. Then you able to type the ip address of the seestar into file explorer on the laptop 192.168.4.44 or you can type seestar. Then it should connect through the router WiFi and access any files on the seestar.
By using station mode I can access the seestar unit as a drive to access the files on board rather than a wired option.
Cheers

Providing information is not interfering @Divsec. Thanks for that. I will first leave the OP to try & explain how this application is supposed to work, then I will delve deeper.

Hi @KeithFrench I managed to find these two documents, if they help you. I'm confused by station mode🤔
I'm thinking the op should try installation again, or advise the operating system of his laptop as the Seestar app only appears to be android or Apple compatible.
Apologies for interfering.

Please can you explain exactly how this seestar application or device is supposed to work, so that I can understand why your eero is blocking it?
