Switch to Full Fibre data only - Advice required

I've recently agreed to switch to full fibre data only (with no landline).  I was advised that the changeover was not going to take place until on or after 17/02/25.  My landline is no longer working before that date but my router is still working.  Can you tell me if I have to download the eero app in order to use the full fibre data only service or can I still use my old router ?  I've seen mixed views on the eero app. and am concerned its going to be problematic.  Thanks

I have just searched on the ThinkPad L15 Gen 1, that will do.

To find out why it is not connecting to the eero, please wait just over three hours since your last connection attempt failed and then can you launch a Command Prompt run as an administrator. Then issue the command below and press the Enter key:-

Netsh wlan show wlanreport

It creates a report & saves it to the HTML file:-

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WlanReport\wlan-report-latest.html

In addition to the HTML file listed above, a CAB file, as well as an XML file, will be in the same folder. Please can you zip all three of these files together? You won't be able to PM them to me, so zip them with a password before attaching them to your thread. As soon as I have them, I will delete them from your post.

To protect your privacy it would be best to Zip these together using the free utility "7-zip":-

https://www.7-zip.org/

Normally download the Windows 64 bit x64 installer file is required.

Open 7-Zip File Manager & browse to the location of the files you have created & click the Add button.

Alternatively highlight all of the files in File Explorer, right click them & choose:-

7-Zip > Add to archive

You might have to use the Show more options in the context menu to see this.

Either way, choose where you want to save the ZIP file.

Set the Archive format to zip.

Enter a strong password.

Select the Encryption method to AES-256.

Now attach this zip file to your thread & send me the password in a PM.

That can be a very complex issue. What WiFi card does it have in it or what make/model of laptop is it?

Yes I have a small white box attached to my wall which I'm assuming is the ONT box that I've connected the eero box to.  I've set up my personal laptop and connected to the internet but have been unable to connect my works laptop to the internet.  I'm using an ethernet cable to connect my works laptop to the eero box and that seemed to work when I tried yesterday evening but need to try and find out why my works laptop is not connecting to the internet without the ethernet cable.

Do you have an ONT installed then, from what you said in your opening post, it didn't sound like it?

Hi Keith - thanks for your prompt response.  I managed to set up my personal laptop with an internet connection via eero but my works laptop is saying no connection.  Is there something I haven't done or need to check ?

Has the Full Fibre been installed, they have to fit a new small box (ONT) inside your property and the eero would connect to that. I use an eero network without a problem.
