Decided to transfer to a new provider, TalkTalk cancelled my broadband connection

Hi, 

I decided to switch from talk talk. Main reason was that as an existing customer, there is no way to switch to a new package if you are out of contract from your online account. 

Decided to switch to a new provider for the same price but Full Fibre 500 rather than the 150 from talktalk. 

New provider takes over in 5 days, but Talk Talk just cancelled my connection with immediate effect. 

 

Has this happened to anyone else? As its late, no support is open from talk talk so cannot speak to anyone. Was waiting for an agent using online chat for about an hour, but then recevied a message on the chat advising that they are closing now.

I've been with TalkTalk for over 15 years, and had full fibre 500 (was on fibre 65) installed on Thursday. I definitely agree that it is very easy to discuss new contracts/deals with them.

OK, it depends how you did thiis: did you move to your new provider using the One Touch Switch process? Or did you ask TalkTalk directly to cancel your contract? And although this isn't relevant now, TalkTalk are always prepared to discuss new deals and package changes.
