Periodic dropouts in connection - router shows 0.00 noise margin...

I'm getting periodic dropouts in broadband connection.  Last one was earlier this morning.  Browser video streaming was interrupted, and the laptop briefly showed No Internet connection.  Several days ago, I had a more extended period of dropouts.

As I understand it a very low noise margin (see details below) means my connection is unstable with low tolerance to any noise on the line.

Is it possible that the Router is not displaying the noise margin correctly, and the figure is higher?

Is it possible, using DLM, to have the BB connection speed tweaked down somewhat to give more stability?

What's the best plan of action?

Thanks

Reboot the router (power off for 20-30 minutes, then power back on) and check the SNR/Noise Margin again.

If you’re on DSL, ensure the modem is on the primary socket, microfilters are fitted correctly (if required), and there are no extension leads that could introduce noise.

If the margin still shows 0.00 after reboot I will run checks.

The dropouts affect wireless connection.  I haven't used wired connections for a while  - so am not aware if this is an issue.

Great, do the dropouts affect both wired and wireless connections in your home?
