Eero 6 pro - How to remove from TT Device Management System

Ive been through a few rounds of live chat and i've been told that i can keep the Eero 6 pro no problem but no one knows what i mean by this question.

How can I ensure this device is removed from TT Device Management systems so it does not get blocked /bricked in the future, please?

When I open the eero app it still says internet provided by TalkTalk and to contact TalkTalk for support.

There is still an admin user for TalkTalk customer support that i cannot remove.

I assume i need to supply the serial number somewhere for this to be removed

thanks!

@callumh89

Pleased they've done it for you.

They must have had a change of heart.

Might be worth resetting the router, or try the generic Eero app and temporarily disable the TalkTalk one.

An update. My serial number was taken and i was told it has been removed from TalkTalk. I still see talktalk branding in the app but maybe that takes some time to filter through 😊

I can't comment on the T&Cs, but as I've outlined is my understanding of the situation around the Eeros.

Support Staff will pick this up for you and be able to advise further.

Section 7 of the terms and conditions makes it sound like the router is yours to keep and use as you wish. It specifically mentions than that you will own the router not TalkTalk

No, the router is not yours to keep and use as you wish.

It is not unusual for equipment provided by ISPs to be locked to their networks.

People have issues with items bought from eBay and CeX that are locked, not necessarily TalkTalk ones, nor just routers.

If that is the case is this not an issue that can be brought to ofcom 😄

eero told me that forcing a hard reset a couple times can sometimes remove all the branding but there is still the issue that it may be blocked and turned into ewaste at some point

The original router provided is locked to TalkTalk. The only Eero that TalkTalk supply is one you have bought and paid for which can be used on other isp networks.

You may find it will work on another network initially, but sweeps are made locating Eeros that are not on TalkTalk networks and are then locked from use.

I don't believe that TalkTalk will unlock these Eeros or free them up if customers leave TalkTalk and require them to be returned and if not, charge customers for the non return
