Hi, I'm using this F5 Big-IP Edge Client for VPN connection to my work. I've been losing connection every few minutes whenever I get connected. The log always says something like:
User 2025-06-16 21:29:50:584 Standalone Tunnel broken for Resource: /Common/corp_split_network
along with some other error messages. I've tried in other places and it didn't happen, making me suspect this must be specific to TalkTalk. I remember reading that TalkTalk doesn't restrict any VPN usage, so I'm really not sure what I could do. Could anyone please help? Thanks.

Hi @ryanck
I doubt very much that this would be a static IP address issue, because you have already connected when it drops out. If you want a static IP address on your 3rd party router, that would depend on whether it supports a DDNS connection to a suitable DDNS provider.

Hi @nambuso-TT
Thanks. Could you please advise on how I can retrieve that information - for example, is it possible to get info on whether I get a static IP address at another place not using TalkTalk connection? I don't have this connection drop when I connect with the VPN at other places, so I'd like to check what kind of difference is there between these places and my home, which I should be able to report back.

Thanks, there is nothing I can do about a 3rd party mesh. The router of your mesh is the only thing that might block this traffic.

Hi @KeithFrench
Thanks. I've replaced the router with my Deco S4 mesh. So there's another possibility that it's about this mesh use. I'll try to test the same thing with the original TalkTalk router.

Hi @ryanck
I have tested many VPN clients on many TalkTalk routers & firmware versions. Please can you confirm which make/model of router you have & what its firmware version is?
The information below is provided by TalkTalk. For confirmation, please contact @Lorrainef, the manager of the TalkTalk support staff on this forum.

If you need further help or if we need to take any details such as personal information about your account like phone numbers, account numbers, etc, one of the TalkTalk team will jump in and help out.

Hi there @ryanck TalkTalk only provide dynamic IP addresses to our customers for technical reasons. This means you won't be able to connect to VPN that requires a static IP address. However, there are ways of getting around this, like setting up a Dynamic DNS. While we can’t provide specific help in this area, there’s plenty of information in our community on the topic https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?filter=includeForums&q=dynamic
