A router came in the post before the upgrade but I did not receive a landline phone adaptor to connect my landline

No, not necessarily. WiFi reception can be a complex issue, often more related to your immediate location, rather than any one make of router. Please follow my request to create a new thread for this & I will help you all the way.

That is great thank you so much, I should have tried it myself but I was being obedient waiting for an email.
About WIFI dropping on the laptops would an eero help. Is one needed for every floor.
I got the impression TALK TALk could provide them as part of the service.
Thanks

That is the Hub 2, you do not need an eero or Grandstream. Just plug a landline phone into the "Phone" port on the back (often covered with tape) and you are good to go.

I have a router already connected, it came before the installation from CityFibre and has been working. I had a look at my account and that router connected is a SageMcom-FAST5464. The download speed that came up from the test was 162Mbps.
Hope this answers you question.
I also received an email after the connection with instructions on how to connect an adapter for the landline phone. Perhaps that implies the phone service is already active; I'm not sure. however I got an email specifically about Full fibre being active.

What speed Full Fibre have you been offered, that will determine the router that you will be supplied with. Fibre 150 attracts an eero 6 and a Grandstream Digital Voice Adapter, slower speeds use the Sagemcom WiFi Hub 2. This has Digital Voice already built in with no need for the Grandstream. From your last post, it would seem that you have not got a go-live date & as such no router or VoIP service will have been provided.
If you are having WiFi issues, that is a different problem altogether. It is one that I can offer a lot of help with. To get that resolved, as it is different to the subject of this thread, please create another new thread for the WiFi issues. Please either @mention me into that new thread or send me a PM with a link to it.

The problem is persisting and i have not had a switchover date email or an adaptor for my phone line. Also the interent WIFI is dropping a lot. I hope the eero will help with that. To recap I had a line installed for Fibre Optic with City Fibre but the phone is still not working. The old line is not working anymore but I have not received an adaptor or an eero. The Wifi is dropping quite often at the moment. I am very upset because I have been kept completely in the dark for several days and the performance even of the internet is not acceptable.
