Is the BT4600 compatible with the Sagecom 3 Full Fibre router?

Any push-button phone that uses DTMF signalling (not loop disconnect) and is approved for connection to the BT PSTN phone network will work over Digital Voice. It will even work with a corded phone. This is all providing that:-

  • It is not faulty
  • Batteries (if any) are in good condition
  • It has registered with the Digital Voice service.

The last point is why I have repeatedly asked you for a screenshot of the relevant page in the router's configuration. I don't expect you to know this & as I am only a customer as well, I have no remote access to your router. Hence, sometimes I need your cooperation in these matters, so that I can help you.

The problem seems now to have been resolved!

The replacement router made no difference, so I have reverted to the original one, so that I don't have to reset all my devices again

I purchased a BT4600 which works with the router seamlessly.

I have learned from it:

Sales staff need to be more honest in not answering just 'Yes' to "Can I use my existing telephone equipment with Full Fibre?"

A BT4600 is definitely compatible with the Sagecom 3 router.

A Gigaset C530 is definitely incompatable with this router.

Talktalk support, when you can finally get to talk to a human, is very good but the performance/frustration in getting through the multiple layers before that can age you years!

I just rrplied to the email linked to this exchange and then recalled that I need to do it here within the community website - but apologies if you receive both.

I have just had a call from Mark of the Talktalk backend team.  I told him that the router was scheduled to be delivered this afternoon and he said he would call me tomorrow once I had a chance to install it - so we are making some progress!

Please let us know how it goes as soon as the router has been delivered and will take it from there. Thanks

Hi Keith

Apologies.   I hadn't realised that as I thought I had asked two questions, one relating to the compability or incompatability of the Gigaset C530 and the other relating to the compatability of the BT4600.    i am finding it difficult (at my age!) to navigate this board and I couldn't trace a reply to our earlier messages whee I sent a screenshot of the VOIP set up on the current router.

No matter, the replacement router promised by TalkTalk is being delivered this afternoon.

Hi @actomox1

You have two threads asking the same question, so I will move the other one out of the way to save confusion.

It should be fine. If you log in to the Hub & go to Advanced Settings > Digital Voice. Please PM me (to preserve your privacy) a screenshot of that page, so that I can check it for you.

I see you have already replied while I was composing mine.  Thanks for that.   Do you happen to know if the Gigaset C530 is NOT compatible?

I have been unable to receive voice calls after my service was upgraded to Full Fibre 150 +VOIP.  The router suppled by Talktalk is the Hub 3 I believe.  The engineer I was finally able to speak to says everything looks fine from their end and the problem may lie in the compatibility between the router and my current cordless phone, which is a fairly old Gigaset C530.

He has however arranged to supply a new router in case there is a fault with the current one ,but if that isn't the problem it will be necessary to change the cordeless and I am contemplating a BT4600, recently recommended by Which?
