Will this WiFi Booster work with other routers than Sagemcom WiFi Hub?

Thanks for this added advice and information it looks helpful to my present predicament and certainly gives me something positive to research and think about.

@Giraffe

I would get in touch with the TalkTalk loyalty team directly on 0345 172 5157, if you tell them that you are thinking of leaving and wish to upgrade they may well give you a decent offer which compares favourably with others. The Booster you have is specifically designed to work with routers of the same family, much like many others.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here: How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - Help & Support.

Hi @Giraffe yes I agree with you, Customer Service has plumbed a new nadir with the removal of TT employees from the community. I always buy my own kit even including the router although the current hub 3 is one of the best I've used. For my mesh network I use Tp link deco 9 which does it all for me and will work with anything in access point mode.

Good luck in your researches.

Hello Divsec

Thanks for your reply. I just thought it might work with other routers having paid £40 for privilege of owning a booster which I must say works exceptionally well in my house with Fibre 65 but now hoping it might work with other routers. I am in the process of reviewing my BB renewal and am not that impressed with TT Customer Service making me think about my BB future requirements.

I'm a blunt person from time to time. Sugar coatings in short supply at the moment.

The 266 needs to be paired with firmware on the router and from my very flawed memory this is described in the setup literature which comes with the booster. Thinking commercially why would TalkTalk give or subsidise a device which worked with other suppliers kit.

Sorry if I'm still a bit blunt and sincerely hope a. n. Other will pop up and correct my misconceptions.

That sounds like a bit of a blunt answer.  Do you know what is so different about the Sagemcom Wifi Booster that would stop it boosting wifi from other makes of router?
