TalkTalk Community Pages Special Mode

The 1" high black horizontal band at the top of each page, with the TalkTalk links, has gone into a special mode again. It displays 1" below the top, splitting pages into two.

Can this be fixed please?

Yes I do use the zoom to more than 100% now and then, usually on other sites, not TalkTalk Community.

I don't see why zoom would have any effect.

Hi @Billx

This is strange because I've not seen any other reports of this issue.

You don't change the zoom settings on the browser to more than 100%?

Hi, @Debbie-TalkTalk

Yes, I just tested the TalkTalk Community link on Microsoft Edge.

The 'Special Mode' is there.

That seems to show, that it isn't related to any data in my system.

Regarding devices, or mobile phones, I don't usually use those things.

Hi, @fr8ys

My bookmark to TalkTalk Community simply has 'https://community.talktalk.co.uk' as the link

That properly takes me to the front page of the TalkTalk Community, though with what I called in 'Special mode'.

In normal mode, every page in the Community has a 1" high black horizontal header band at the top. This band contains any general TalkTalk links.

In 'Special Mode', that black band is shifted about 1" lower than the top of each Community page

Thus all community pages are split into two, and overlaid in their middle with the black header band.

It just looks ugly to me. Everything else works properly within the Community.

Oh, I forgot earlier.

I also go to the community, without using the the bookmark.

I open the email client, and click on one of the already received notification emails, received  from the Community

That takes me directly to the relevant thread.

Of course, 'Special Mode' is there.

(I call it 'Special Mode' because the same occurred about six months ago, and then one or other system, corrected itself, without me doing anything.)

Hi @Billx

I'm unable to replicate this fault. My Community pages are not displaying the same as yours.

I know you cleared your browsers, could you also try a different browser?

Do you use the one device to access the Community? Could you try on a different device?

Oh right.

What URL are you clicking on from saved then?

Can you try doing a Google search for the forum and access via that? Does special mode still show?

If not then delete your normal bookmark and re-add and then try again.

Hi @fr8ys

Do you mean 'Special-Mode', which is part of the original title of my thread, 'TalkTalk-Community-Pages-Special-Mode'?

Special Mode is part of my own naming of the thread.

What I do notice, is that the current URL is:

whereas the URL in the image shows something different:part of above imagepart of above image

Yes, I  access the forum via a saved bookmark.

As I said to Chris, I deleted All Browsing history.

No change.

@Billx looking at the URL on the image you've posted, it includes special mode within it.

Did you first access the forum via a saved bookmark or one that came up whilst you were typing?

If so then clearing your history of visited sites should help and within bookmarks search  for special-mode and delete any bookmarks should solve the issue.

Hi Chris,

I deleted: All Browsing history, All Cached images and files, and All Cookies of Google and TalkTalk.

It hasn't got rid of the issue.

This issue occurred previously about six months ago. But it fixed itself later on.

Hi, @Debbie-TalkTalk

Yes, this occurs on every board, and every topic. I.E. every page.

I really don't understand why you don't see the same.

Hi @Billx

 Is this on every topic?

Have you tried a different browser? If you refresh the page does it go back to normal?
