It used to be possible to have a second line (different number) or simply an extension (same number) in different parts of the house, but the technology is heading towards no copper landline and upgrading to full fibre with VOIP, @Knobead.
The VOIP aspect must be added with the fibre order, and can only allow one main phone plugged into the back of the router. If you have a set of digital phones, these will still work in different parts of the house as before.
