Wonder if anyone can help with this problem have spent two hours talking online twice with TalkTalk No satisfactory outcome. My phone and broadband services are working okay. The problem I have is I have water coming down the INSIDE of the wire into junction box in house. Talk talk won’t authorise BT/ opereach because no fault, but did give telephone number which was for reporting books and line damages but said it wasn’t their responsibility. They passed me onto BT which said it wasn’t their problem ,so does anybody have any contact information on how I get my 1960 phone line replaced.

Hi Simbrad,

It is Openreach's responsibility as they own the line/cable. As you've been told we can only raise a fault if your service is affected. Please take a look at the following page on the Openreach website for further information - Report damage, vandalism or a health & safety issue | Openreach

I think that you will have to wait for it to cause a fault before anyone will replace it. However, that is just my thoughts so I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and investigate it for you.

They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday) excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first.

To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-

Personal Profile > Personal Information

Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.
