Good morning. I have looked into this, and I can confirm that there is no voicemail feature on your account.

There's nobody specific, @DavidDavid, so please wait till they pick this up and ask you to message them.

It was not usually how the forum worked previously either  - if you PM staff without them asking you to first, it's usually ignored, whereas there's a queuing system with the threads.

You were just lucky that Arne picked up your message that time!

If you have a need to use your service for business purposes you might be better ditching your residential service altogether  - though many people work from home, the Ts&Cs for domestic use don't cover business use without special permission.

The standard voicemail service can't have been removed properly last year - it's not possible to reinstate it, so it can't have been fully removed. Only Voicemail Plus can now be added or removed.

I didn't start a thread: I messaged Arne directly after reading that he'd fixed the same issue for someone else.

I don't want it on my line at all. It messes up my business calls.

Who is the tech support on this now?

Can you link their profile to me please?

If really stuck, just don't use 1571.

You are not charged unless you dial. You could set your own phone's ansaphone to kick in after fewer rings, @DavidDavid.

I can't see any sign of you starting your own thread last year, @DavidDavid:

https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Billing/How-to-remove-the-standard-answerphone-service-added-on-...

It was someone else's thread, and no indication that Arne took any action [unless you communicated by PM?].

As I mentioned, staff are not on here at weekends. They will pick up this thread on Monday  - it would have been the same routine with the previous support staff. Nothing has changed in respect of hours they work on the forum.

Otherwise, you need to keep trying using the main support channels by phone/Chat.

It isn't TalkTalk's official voicemail.

It's the one that you dial 1571 to retrieve the messages.

I cannot remove it from the control panel.

How can I get in touch with one of the technical support staff on this, like the way I did with Arne last year?

No, there's a new team on here, but they are not on at weekends.

Is this the old Voicemail, never fully removed, or their newer version [Voicemail Plus] that comes with a monthly charge?

I had this problem before last year and got Arne, one of the support staff on this to contact someone and get it removed.

There was no way for me to do it myself on my control panel.

I tried contacting TalkTalk tech support and just went round and round in circles talking to people who told me there was no fix for it.

Is Arne not working on this anymore?

@DavidDavid, if you can't remove it in My Account [many functions don't work correctly in there these days], phone 03451 720088 or use Chat to ask them to remove it for you.

I think that you do it yourself by managing your telephone add-ons in your MyAccount.
