I reported a fault because the landline telephone is crackling and hissing. You acknowledged that there is a fault and gave me a reference number REP-16497896 then asked me to contact you at support.talktalk.co.uk/ to chat with a member of your team. It tells me to click the ‘contact our team’ button but nothing happens when I do that, it does not go anywhere.

Can you please advise me what you want to know from me?

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. The engineer has moved my service to a different line, which seems to have cured the problem. If there is any recurrence in the near future I shall let you know.

Thank you for asking.

So far this morning it appears to be clear but the latest fault status only says it is in progress:

An engineer is on the way to the exchange

Updated: 20:57 on 24/02/2026

There is an issue with the line providing your connection. An engineer is on their way.

They will not need to come into your home.

 

So I shall check a few more times today before confirming that the fault has been cleared.

Try the "chat now" button here. If yuu don't see one, please make sure that pop ups and redirects are enabled on your browser.The phone lines shut at 7:00pm.
