Hi
Wondering what the latest Talktalk plan is for existing customers still using the analogue land line when the PSTN switch off happens.
Will a new router be supplied that supports VoIP?
Seems the Sagemcom F@st 5464 is the one being supplied.
Thanks

You don't "need" anything at this point. But when the old copper lines are switched off you can have a VoIP service, effectively replacing the old landline when that service ends. You will be notified in advance when that is likely to affect you.

Hi
So are you suggesting you need to have fibre to the premisses to continue to have a land line?
I still use one and also my elderly parents.
What other solution are you offering to fix this?
Thanks

You won't be left without a service all of a sudden, @gonzinigonz, but when offered an upgrade to Full Fibre, you would need to specify at the time that you need VOIP [no extra cost, and calls are charged in the usual way]. It's not automatic to get it and must be orderd when you order the broadband package.
Many customers don't feel the need of a landline nowadays.
Also make sure that Talktalk knows if you have any accessibility concerns.
Both the Sagemcom Hub2 and Hub3 have a special slot for you to plug the phone into. Older types of router don't, so the design of the router has changed to accommodate the latest technology for making voice calls.
You'd discuss all this at the time of ordering.
