Remove a broadband Tag from my landline

I need TalkTalk to remove a broadband tag from my landline so I can move providers. I have never had broadband, do not want broadband, and do not want to stay with TalkTalk, but I can't get away from this nightmare without them removing this tag.
How do I get to speak to someone who can get this simple thing done?

Problem solved! My new provider is able to request the removal of the tag so no further input from TalkTalk required.

What was the name of the package you have been on for Talktalk, as described in My Account, @FedUp9991?

Talktalk always sells bundled packages if using copper or fibre to the cabinet [and only data only deals that are Full Fibre to the premises can be provided without the bundle].

But the normal way to change providers is to use One Touch Switch and make sure that you give the new provider your landline phone number for the new provider to take over the line.

The challenge is finding a provider who will offer phone only.

You might be better using Live Chat during the day on Sunday, or phoning Talktalk Monday to Saturday - full opening hours here:

Staff on the forum are not authorised to cancel services.

If you can't switch by using One Touch, you may have to simply cancel your contract altogether with Talktalk but risk losing your phone number altogether and starting again with the new provider.

OK, thanks for clarifying. Are there any copper based landline only providers that you can actually move to?

If you would like the support team to look into this for you make sure that your personal details including TalkTalk phone number or account number are complete on your community profile (click here) so that they can link your forum identity with your account and then wait for them to respond. Bear in mind that they won't be back online until Monday.

The address has never had broadband. I presume it's still copper.

Just to clarify, you have only ever had a phone service from TalkTalk? Or have you just never used the broadband service which generally accompanies it? Is it a copper based connection, rather than any form of fibre,  i.e. ADSL?
