Because my account is "deactivated" or such.
"We're sorry. We are unable to generate a PAC or STAC code for this mobile number as it is inactive. Please contact us for further assistance." - WTF?
I want to leave, is this Hotel California or something?
TT please let me go . . .

@m4r35n357 Thank you for letting us know. I’m really sorry for the confusion this has caused. The PAC/STAC options appearing as “active” on the website shouldn’t be happening, and I completely understand why that would be frustrating.

Well perhaps you should inform your "superiors" that the Generate PAC/STAC options are still "active" on your web site!

Just _one_ email - well advertised then! I never saw it.

Looking into your account I can see that you were sent an email on the 01/10/2025 advising you that your mobile service will close on 25th November 2025 and you needed to request a PAC if you wanted to keep your number. Thanks

I am very sorry to hear this @m4r35n357
on 20-01-2026 01:27 PM
Well I never got it - nicely done!
Fortunately I won't have to deal with TT ever again 🙂

That's correct, @fr8ys . @m4r35n357 We sent a notification to all our mobile customers informing them about the closure of the mobile department.
on 20-01-2026 11:54 AM
Hi Frood.
Yes they will say that as up to a year's notice was given regarding the closure of TalkTalk mobile via email to all customers giving them various options, and reminders were also sent.
on 20-01-2026 11:38 AM
I suppose TT now claim that I was warned about this? I was NOT (unless we are talking about some HHGTG-style "notice").
on 20-01-2026 10:31 AM
Thanks for the support @fr8ys🙂
on 20-01-2026 10:29 AM
Thanks for that @Gliwmaeden2
@m4r35n357 for any enquiries you may have regarding your mobile services please do contact the above number. Thanks

If your account, i.e. your phone is disconnected, then your phone number would no longer be in use and it would therefore not be possible for you to port this to another supplier for use.
If it is still in use then it should be possible but my understanding is that mobile support has now ceased.
Mobile support is not available via the forum and your only help will be via the mobile support team on the phone as @nambuso-TT has stated.

@m4r35n357 and @nambuso-TT:
This article suggests that ALL mobile phone services are now closed down, and it's not possible to get any codes, retrieve numbers etc:
https://help-centre.talktalk.co.uk/Manage_account/Leave_TalkTalk/Cancel_your_TalkTalk_Mobile_service
"All remaining mobile services were automatically disconnected and numbers that were not ported out before the closure no longer have the option to be ported to a new provider".
