York’s Balloon Fiesta 2019
We were thrilled to be a part of York Balloon Fiesta again this year for the third time running as headline sponsor.
The event was as popular as ever and we had a great time over the three days. We were delighted to meet so many lovely residents and customers who told us their stories about how UFO has positively impacted their lives.
Our new, bigger spot right next to the Minster FM stage meant we were in the perfect place to enjoy the entertainment especially the Freddie Mercury, Abba, Dolly Parton, and The Beatles tribute acts! We even got to hang out with stunt man, Jez Avery, and had a sneaky peak backstage with the Take That tribute act.
Our friends from Artifaces joined us throughout the weekend and were extremely popular painting lots of faces with fantastic colourful designs! We were delighted that so many of you gave generous donations, helping us raise a total of £250.24 for St Leonards Hospice.
It was great to see so many little ones enjoying creating, drawing and making things at York Mumbler’s and Camp Xplode stalls, and the big kids loving the funfair and Ferris wheel with fabulous view from the top. We especially loved sampling the delicious food and drink!
The balloons were lit up by their burners for an unforgettable Night Glow with a choreographed display to music which was as brilliant as ever. The magic continued on the Saturday evening with a spectacular fireworks and laser show.
Residents who made a UFO order with us were automatically put into a prize draw to win an iPad and the winner will be announced in due course. Thank you to everyone involved with the Fiesta for making it another fantastically fun and successful community event which shows York at its best!
