New remote (not 4K box), won’t begin tv/avr process

Hi,

 

I received a new box in the post and after setting it up, I can’t seem to pair the remote to the tv to allow the volume to be controlled. My old TalkTalk remote did this fine, as does my FireStick remote.

 

I have followed the website instructions here: https://help-centre.talktalk.co.uk/TV/Find_info_or_guidance_about_my_TV/TalkTalk_Remote_Control_Guid... to go to the TV/AVR Controls settings but I can’t seem to do anything once the page opens apart from click back. I can’t click begin or anything else, so I can’t seem to pair the remote. 

Please help, I really don’t want to have to be using two remotes, and if this doesn’t pair, I’ll go back to exclusively using the FireStick instead.

Hi,

 

 Two things to try.

 

1 try resetting your remote and re-pair with your box, then try again.

 

2 If that doesn't work, try resetting the box by doing a factory reset which should clear any bugs in the setup.

 

Hope this cures your issue.
