Bad links in TalkTalk monthly bill

I've just received my TalkTalk bill.

Here's a screenshot of part of it:

abcabc

It has 6 pictures each of which has a web link.

None of the links are usable

Google Chrome reports 'Check if there is a typo in click.talktalk.co.uk.'

Obviously there isn't, as this has supposedly been checked by TalkTalk.

Placing the mouse over each picture does not reveal the web address it will go to.

Using Chrome, one can copy the link address/es.

The web address of the 1st link re the 1st picture re 'View you bill' is:

https://click.talktalk.co.uk/f/a/Zv_8HlrGV0L8XBY5YcbNEw~~/AAAAARA~/x-5pRc5HYOVbFv8TznGpPd3lsUCErZBbN...

The web address of the 2nd link re the 2nd picture re 'Help and support' is:

https://click.talktalk.co.uk/f/a/cHH4i7sGOl6CtDW01HOc1g~~/AAAAARA~/m-hR6ijesd1XsQclDtrE2Un2JfYKmymFx...

and so on, for the other 4.

As one can see, the links are made up of gibberish.

It seems, whenever TalkTalk goes via the https://click.talktalk.co.uk website, it has to use gibberish

Please, TalkTalk, don't use hieroglyphs, just use normal characters that we can all understand.

Or, do you think we are robots, that can decipher that?

Apart from the stupid encryption via https://click.talktalk.co.uk, the links don't work.

Please fix them.

Thanks very much for the confirmation, @fr8ys

I did notice someone else had complained about the same, a week or two ago.

@Billx  I've received my latest bill and clicked on all links and get the same response as you do.

I will raise this with the forum manager to report the issue to the appropriate team.

I will allow you to breathe briefly if you are holding your breath!

So just to confirm, you have an issue with viewing your bill using the links attached on the email?

Hi, @nambuso-TT

No, I haven't cleared any cookies, cache, etc

As I said to @Fr8ys, "Edit3: There is no issue going directly to MyAccount, viewing and downloading my bill."

The issue arises, when viewing a  TalkTalk new bill email, in TalkTalk webmail, and then clicking the link in the email, to get to MyAccount, and view and download the TalkTalk bill.

That click on the links in that email do not work.

It also does not work when viewing that email in Outlook, Thunderbird, or in a browser.

Edit: It is that monthly notification email from TalkTalk, that the issue is in, not in MyAccount.

Edit2: another issue, is that when viewing that email in TalkTalk webmail, and placing the mouse over any of the links, the destination web address is not displayed.

Hi there, did you clear cookies and cache on your browser before attempting to log into MyAccount?

To be honest, I've never tried.

Staff can pass this on but, as you know, don't hold your breath.

Hi, @fr8ys

Something happened a few months ago, not exactly the same thing.

No, I use the other one, not the Eero.

My blocker had been disabled for TalkTalk, before using the links.

Don't you currently have the same issue?

Edit: The links do not work via TalkTalk webmail, Outlook app, or Thunderbird, or directly via Google Chrome.

I think my previous comment might have been, that links were not visable while placing the mouse over the links,

and then, even though the links went through, different results were obtained via webmail/Outlook.

Edit 2: The real links are displayed properly by Outlook and Thunderbird when placing the mouse over them, but not by TalkTalk webmail. In any case, neither of the 3 get through.

Edit3: There is no issue going to MyAccount, viewing and downloading my bill.

I can't remember, do you have an Eero? If so turn off the advanced security ad blocker.

I had issues when clicking through links from Google search. This cleared it.
