My Talk Talk Brodband and Phone contract ends on the 2nd February 2025.
What are the steps to take to make sure I can cease all services up to this date?
I do not want to incur any penalties just a smooth cessation.
Please advise?
Thank you

Just one thing to remember, @surfclubweek998, is that, when you leave without switching, just by ceasing, you lose your landline phone number.
It goes quite quickly into a pool of numbers available to other households in the area.
Obviously copper lines will cease eventually, but the numbers will continue to be used by people making phone calls over VOIP.
If you just use your mobile, then this doesn't matter. It's just worth bearing in mind in case banks or businesses still use the phone number to try to reach you.

OK, in which case just give the 30 days notice which you can do now. If you specify that you want 2 February as your actual cease date then they will try to oblige. But billing will not end immediately, there will still be your latest bill charged in advance and then any credit paid back to your account afterwards. It isn't repaid automatically. you need to reclaim it. Leave your Direct Debit in place until after you receive a bill for a zero balance when it has all been resolved.

I don't think I will switch, I'll just go for the full cancellation of services.
I just fear a switch will add way more complexity.

I want to cease the service completely. No switching.

Are you cancelling your service completely i.e. not wanting broadband anymore at all? If so you need to contact TalkTalk directly to give 30 days' notice.
If you are switching to another provider, then if you use the One Touch Switch process TalkTalk will accept notification from your new provider in lieu of notice.
Either way, you are likely to have a further bills which will be tidied up and any money owed to you refunded after the cancellation/switch is complete.

If you are giving notice now, within the last 30 days, there should be no termination fee.
You'll be charged for 30 days though, even if you ask for it to stop on the 2nd Feb [see Ts&Cs, linked at the foot of any Talktalk page] and some of these days will be at full price.
I think you'd need to be out of contract altogether to allow a switch to another ISP that doesn't involve early termination fees, @surfclubweek998.
It's very hard to know in advance the exact timing of the switch because so much depends on how the other company deals with it.
I'll flag this up for clarification from staff. They'll respond during the day.
With all of this a lot depends on the timing of your billing cycle too.
It's actually quite hard to calculate a neat and tidy finish.

Is there a way to avoid the termination fee?
I have less than a month left, 26 days to be exact. Do I still get charged the £10.20? (It's £10.20 for every month left on the contract)
Is there a way to just terminate on the 2nd February 2025, the last day of my contract with no termination fee applied?
Advice needed.

Just to add, that link also includes advice on how to proceed if you want to switch to another provider rather than just cancel.

@surfclubweek998, your minimum term contract stops on 2nd February, but not the service - you may have noticed a higher bill. Whatever comes in this month will cover a full month ahead, and any days that go beyond the 2nd will be pro rata at full price.
Talktalk requires 30 days' notice or until another ISP takes over your line.
Any unused days are then refunded in a subsequent bill, so you need to leave your Direct Debit details in place to claim any refund back from My Account to your bank account.
Only after returning equipment and receiving a bill for £0.00 is it safe to remove your DD.
Phone 03451 720088 to cancel - don't use the Chat option - or to confirm that you have made a switch.
