Why is it every time you leave a utility company they play funny.

This bill is  way too much.

I'm paying £21.09  a month plus £8.02 for calls for this month January.

However, last months bill was up to the 7th January which means I'm paying a month in advance!

This means that this bill should be from the 8th to the 16th which it says it is at £36.80 including £8.02 for calls up to the 7th February, but this is only the 8th January and the bill is due on the 16th January.

If my contract ends on the 18th, and I am  leaving on the 16th why am I being charged soo much?

Regards

Niall

@khazars670, the refund for the days you haven't used will be refunded to My Account, so not directly to your bank account.

Leave your Direct Debit details in place, as you'll use that to claim the money back to your bank account.

Only after receiving a bill for £0.00 is it safe to removed the DD details.

The Sagemcom router needs to be returned to TalkTalk. Once your account has been disconnected, please reply to this thread so we can arrange a return bag for the equipment.

Yes, that is correct, once your account is disconnected, we’ll send a final bill that reflects any credits due back to you.

So what do you do with the Sagemcom router, send it on to Shell?

So will I still be billed on the 16th January and then the bill will be revised and you pay me back the over charge in what February?

If you have a shell sagemcom F5359 router you will need to return the equipment if you have any other router there is no need to return it.

Hi Mandisa,

thank you for your prompt reply, and I will still need a prepaid returns bag/envelope for the Shell Sagemcom  modem router!

Furthermore, I am not concerned, just querying this my final bill!

cheers

** Your contract ends on the 18th meaning the discounts that you had ends then, you have been charged the standard price for your package after the 18th and that is why you have been charged £28.78 for your package and £8.02 for your call usage making a total of £36.80.

@khazars670 I completely understand why this looks confusing and why you’re concerned about the amount. Let me break it down for you.

TalkTalk bills in advance for the monthly service, and any usage charges like calls are billed in arrears. This means your bill includes the upcoming month’s line rental plus any call charges from the previous period.

Your bill of £36.80 includes £21.09 for your monthly plan and £8.02 for calls, plus a small adjustment because your previous bill only covered up to 7th January. So this bill covers from 8th January to 7th February.

Even though your contract ends on the 18th and you’re leaving on the 16th, the system still generates a full month’s charge in advance. Once your service stops, we’ll calculate any unused days and issue a refund or final adjustment.

You won’t pay for days you don’t use. After your account closes, we’ll send a final bill that reflects any credits due back to you.
