ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS... Engineer came on pre arranged day as stated. The visit confirmed there were issues which had been resolved and was told there would be 'NO CHARGE', as was fault on Talktalk line/equipment.
Just got bill today and this 'so called company' has billed me £75.00 for 'Engineer Charges'.
I was told there would be no charge.
I am going to consider legal action and will not be paying.
Very likely I will be leaving TT after this episode, had this once before and I said 'NEVER AGAIN'.
Now its happened again... PLEASE REMOVE THIS ILLEGITIMATE CHARGE, we were told by this so called Engineer, that there would be NO CHARGE, as fault lay with TT.
NOT happy- 0 out of 100 satisfaction. Would give minus rating if I could!
😡
I have not got time for all this nonsense and really do not like being 'turned over' by dodgy practices and tactics, which clearly is the case.
My faith has been lost in TalkTalk, this is the second time I have been 'turned over' with rogue engineer charges and both times they told me 'there would be no charge as TT faults'.
Does TalkTalk like turning over elderly loyal and honest customers?
My Elderly Mother has been ripped off and is now being charged extortionate fees she does not even owe! She alreay suffers from Health problems and had a Heart Attack- the stress of this will not do her any good at all.
We will not be paying and will be taking legal advice unless this 'rogue charge' is removed immediately from the bill. It is both dishonest and immoral, especially after telling me 'there will be no charge'.
I would love to have a little quiet chat with the 'so called Engineer' in a private space, what a low life, conning an elderly lady.

You seem to have a habit of replying to my posts with your profound knowledge, thankyou for your superb and sublime wisdom.
The Engineer told us TWICE on his visit that no charge would be levied. It was levied, so that was not true. So yes, I am pretty *@#][!![]'#[@#]!* off.
Had he explained that ultimately the decision to levy the charge was NOT his jurisdiction, then yes I would not have been so harsh, but he didn't. He assured us TWICE that there would be no charge, as you say. I would say that is a pretty big mistake and unacceptable. I also did not like his somewhat rather 'superior attitude' on the visit, which did not earn him any points whatsoever.
I have very good perception and can easily see through facades people like to exercise and try and project onto others.
Also Grasshopper, your quote "There was no need for all the abuse....", another most profound point you make, in all your vast wisdom.
It seems you think YOU are the one who decides in what manner others should behave ? .... All power to you my friend....
However, I rarely ever do what someone else tells me, especially if they are idiots. I have free will, and I decide what I do....period.
Let me help you ... YOU do not decide for me how I should behave. There again maybe you do? So next time I have to make a decision in the manner I should behave, then I will contact you and just check you approve of my choice? ... I will let you decide how I should behave, as you are in charge. Do not try and control other people my friend, or tell them how to behave it will 'come back and bite you the same as Karma does...'.
At least we both agree on that point anyway.
Have a nice day and adios amigo.

Extremely harsh I think.
The only mistake he made as far as I can tell was promise that there would be no charge when it's really not within his control. He simply files a report on what he found and what work he carried out. Whether any charges are levied is decided by someone in an office somewhere.
Obviously I have no idea what work was done or why the decision was made to impose the charge, but regardless, all you needed to do was state that you believed the Engineer charge was incorrect and ask that it be reviewed. There was no need for all the abuse.

Indeed.

My internet is now 'mysteriously' not working, since I typed the last post. Just what are you clowns playing at? If it is not working by this evening, then I will call my Solicitor, whom is a close personal friend of mine and I will not hesitate to take legal action.

Hello Arne,
thankyou very much for your assistance and removing this illegitimate charge.
Maybe the Engineer should also be 'removed'? Or whomever is responsible for giving an elderly and vulnerable lady yet more worry she does not need or deserve. Again, whomever is responsible should hold their head(s) in shame- absolutely disgraceful.
Seems some people think its acceptable to rob and steal in these ways- its totally not acceptable.
I'm sure they would be the first to complain if it was done to them but they think they are allowed to do it to others! ........... Lowlifes and to quote an old saying, "Karma is a bitch....", when it catches up with you, as it surely will. 😱😈

The charge for the engineer has been removed.

They had better respond ASAP. I am absolutely furious.
I do not like my elderly Mother being turned over for charges that she does not owe- this is absolutely disgraceful.
I never trusted this so called Engineer when I saw him and he told me, "there will be no charge, fault was with Talktalk".
Second time we have illegitimately been charged in this way after being told 'there will be no charge'.
Do all the Engineers do this shady and shifty practice? Maybe the engineer in question, who told us 'there will be no charge', should be shown this thread and compliant, so he can realise the stress, worry and expense he has caused and elderly and vulnerable person?
I think it is a disgrace- I would so love to meet up with this sad excuse of a human being again and 'have some quiet words with him'.
If that was me I could not sleep at night, conning elderly and vulnerable people for charges they do not even owe, whilst lying through his teeth in the process!
Absolutely shameful- please show this little engineer guy who visited and tricked my elderly Mum this thread and ask him
' are you proud of yourself' ? What a vile and totally shameful way to earn a living, conning and lying to old vulnerable people.

@Very_slow_TTalk, I've moved this over to the billing section as it is an account issue, not a problem with the actual service.
Staff will respond during the week - they are not on here at weekends.
