CHANGING WIRELESS CHANNEL

I need to manually change my Sagemcom router to a different channel but it automatically changes it back in a matter of hours. 

 

I've spent 2 days with talktalk advisors with no joy and not they have said to post here. 

 

I need to change it on my 5ghz band and if i can't will look at other providers that offer this which is a shame to say I've been loyal to talktalk for yrs now.

 

Any help would be great and suggestions on service providers that have this available TIA

Hi @arnolyuna,

 

The support team here on the community will be able to disable 'Wi-Fi Optimisation' on your Sagemcom, once this is done it will stay on whatever channel you manually select.

 

Note that performing a factory reset, or the router taking a firmware update, will likely turn this setting back on, so you would have to post back here again to ask for it to be turned off.

 

For one of the TalkTalk Support Team on this community to be able to look into this you will need to update your community profile to include :

 

  • Your name
  • Landline telephone number that your TalkTalk service is provided on (this is shown in ‘My Account’) OR add your account number to the ‘private notes’ section if you have Full Fibre with no landline
  • An alternative contact number

This will allow them to identify you, and they will then be able to help.

 

Don't post any personal details in this thread, just add them to your community profile (only you and the TalkTalk Support Team on this community can see your profile details).

 

Then they will hopefully be able to respond to this post tomorrow.
