The past few weeks I have been having issues with connecting my work laptop to my Talk talk wifi. My IT dept have indicated this is down to a firmware update by Talk Talk and this requires to be downgraded. 

 

I can connect via a mifi box so the issue seems to be with the router.

Can you advise your make/model of router and which version of software it is running? Also, make sure that your personal details including TalkTalk phone number or account number are complete on your community profile (click here) so that the support team can link your forum identity with your account.
