Clarification on plan offers

Dear all, My broadband contract is going to end next month and got an email about offers. I’m still not sure about this offer which states, “Continue with your current service and you'll continue to pay £41.42 per month. Your monthly price will rise each April in line with Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation + 3.7%. You don't have to do anything. You'll then be out of contract, giving you the freedom to upgrade whenever it suits you.”

Does this mean the contract will be renewed for another 24 months or it will be just on monthly basis? And I can cancel anytime?

A couple of months ago I renewed my broadband deal with an upgrade from Fibre35 to Fibre65. I did this using the chat system. I was renewed at £30pm onto the Fixed Price Plus "promotion". As this was less than I was paying for Fibre35 I was well pleased. I think I am good at £30pm now until April 2028 when there will be £3 increase.
Exact words from chat transcript:
"Fixed Price Plus means that the price of your broadband remains the same during the minimum contract term and will increase by no more than £3 thereafter.
When your contract ends, we promise to never increase your price above £3 while you pay for this promotion."

Now surfing from a Dell Inspiron 3881 running Windows 11 and a Qualcomm QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter with Sagemcom FAST 5364 router.

Hey there, @Maddyss

The other alternative is that we can re contract for you on this platform, if you are happy to proceed, we could also explore other options for you.

@Maddyss, if you continue out of contract, the April price rise will be as described in that email.

If you take out a new contract it will be subject to a £3.00 increase in April each year.

If you go for Fixed Price Plus, you pay a bit more on renewal for the monthly rate but don't get the pain of the April increase:

https://www.talktalk.co.uk/flexible-payment

Fixed Price Plus doesn't get a mention much these days unless you speak to Talktalk directly on 03451 720088 or Chat when renewing and they can explain it more fully.

The April price rises are otherwise automatic, as explained here:

If you don't formally renew your contract, you continue on a month to month basis.

You can cancel at anytime by phoning the loyalty team and giving 30 days notice.
