Faster Fibre - 24 Mbps to router - only 14 to devices

Hello,

Getting a huge drop in speed from the router. I know I'm at the end of a long copper wire but that's not the issue as speed to the router is all we might expect.

But over wifi and over ethernet we consistently get a much slower speed.   I've isolated everything and hard-wired one machine on its own to the router, swithching off all other devices, and no change.

Does this suggest that the router is faulty?

MacOS.

Thanks for any help,

John

Hi John

That's great, thanks for confirming 🙂

If you do experience any further issues then please let us know and we can send a replacement router for testing.

I have also sent you a Private Message with a link to a short survey for the Community.

Thanks again.

Debbie 🙂

Debbie, Many thanks - after a 40min power-down, router re-booted to give very nearly full speed to devices - 24 giving 23 Mbps.

Job done!

Not done a long reset - only 30 seconds or so. I'll give it a go.

Thanks Debbie

Hi John

I'm sorry to hear this. Can I just check, have you tried powering down the router for a full 30 minutes and then running a speed test?

Thanks

Debbie
